CHRISTMAS GREETINGS FROM THE SESSION

December 24, 2020

Dear Members and Friends,

Advent has always been a time of hope and joy.  We prepared for the birth of Jesus, our Savior.  We decorated the tree.  We looked for that special gift.

2020 has been different.  While we prepared during advent, it was in a different health climate.  We have been physically apart, and careful in personal interactions. We may not be meeting with family and friends.   We long to prepare food to share, and to see one another.  We remember the past and a more normal time.

Let us decide this year to truly remember the greatest joy of all, Jesus.

All birth brings joy.  This blessed little child will be more than a hope.  Jesus’ birth brings reconciliation, renewal, inspiration and blessing, in each of our lives, and in our church. We want Jesus to shine in our own lives and in our world, as he leads us forward to peace, justice, overcoming fear, spiritual growth, and to working on the problems of life and the world.

Our church family has been both challenged and blessed this past year, even as we know we face challenges ahead.  Members and friends gave generously of their time and money to help our neighbors, family, and friends.  We must be prepared together to listen for God as he speaks to us in the New Year 2021.

This season also gives us hope, as we share with others the true meaning of Christmas, and look forward to the vaccines for COVID-19 and the return of a healthy future.

Our journey as a church continues. And, we are thankful to be on that journey with you.

This Christmas we want to again greet the infant Jesus, happy and confident that in Him all things turn out for our good and His glory.

This is our true gift.  This is our real Christmas. This is our hope for every New Year.

We joyously give our lives in service, and look forward with great anticipation to 2021, as we continue reaching out into our community and the world with the message of the child born on Christmas Day.

We Love EACH and EVERY One of You and we pray that God will give you a Blessed Christmas, filled with hope, continued health, and the promise of the New Year.

Yours In Christ,

The Session of Good Shepherd-Faith Presbyterian Church
